Our little red schoolhouse

Built in 1900, the years have brought many improvements to the original structure. The historic charm of the Little Red School shines through in many of the student areas

Playground

Our soft, sandy playground boasts swings, climbing areas, a see saw, climbing train, playhouse, slides, spinners and a mud kitchen. This outdoor space free-flows with indoor activities and truly takes advantage of the San Francisco climate

Seasonal garden

Completed in 2016, the seasonal garden is an outdoor space to dig in the dirt and learn about nature. Staff and parents work together with children to plant seeds, tend plants, and sample the fruits of the season.

During our rainy months, children are encouraged to use the green house to don muddy buddies and explore the rain and mud

Music Garden

Our music garden was lovingly crafted by Miraloma families to give our children access to music making everyday.

Children can explore oversized metal chimes, a communal, steel tongue drum, endless rain wheel and sing and dance on our Plum Tree Stage

Main room

In our main school room, children can freely explore fine and gross motor materials such as oversized blocks, shells, rocks, vehicle tracks and much more. Our staff and parents utilize this space to set up art, sensory and science activities that change daily

Dress-up room

Lovingly named for its vast supply of costumes, our Dress-Up Room includes a full play kitchen, work bench, dress up closet and play loft hand painted by proud Miraloma parents

Pillow room

Our Pillow Room is outfitted with nugget couches that provide a comfortable place for focused circle time. It can then be transformed by bringing down trapeze and hammocks, creating an obstacle course or clearing the space for dance, yoga or other creative play
