Our Cooperative

Led by our families

A cooperative school is a non-profit organization where each family shares in the planning and operation of the school, with professionally trained teachers heading the classroom and guiding the curriculum. Participating in activities and the running of the school builds a sense of community and also empowers parents to influence their child's education. We believe that it is a unique and precious experience to watch our children learn and grow alongside their peers

Each family engages to ensure the success of our school through:

A school job

We’ll match you with a job that fits your skills and interests, like photographer, tech support, new family support,
and event planning

Membership meetings

Led by families, this monthly get-together is spent sharing the needs and successes of our little school

Parent-teaching

Get first-hand experience in your child’s classroom through weekly (or biweekly) parent-teaching the AM class. In case of emergencies, families are assigned “last call” days to act as substitutes

Maintenance & housekeeping

Our families take pride in the care of our campus by sharing the upkeep

Fundraising

Tuition covers our teacher and director salaries, insurance, and taxes. It keeps the lights on and water running, but it does not cover the full cost of running the school

Utilities, supplies, maintenance, curriculum/enrichment, financial aid and parent education are all made possible thru fundraising
